There’s 5K runs, and then there’s the Color Me Rad 5K run . No matter if you hate running, love it with a passion, or just want to get a little dirty, Color Me Rad is the run that’s been “ruining all other 5K’s since 2012”.

Color Me Rad Vancouver takes place on October 05, 2013 up at the UBC Point Grey Campus on Stadium Road. Registration just opened up and it only costs $35 to enter the run (until Friday – then it bumps up a bit).

So, what exactly is Color Me Rad? Imagine going on a run, and then getting pelted with colour. That’s pretty much the essence of Color Me Rad. Your body is a canvas and the official “colour bombers” at Color Me Rad Vancouver want to get you looking as bright as possible.

The colour is made out of non-toxic, non-rash-inducing, Kroger branded, colored cornstarch, so you don’t have to worry about closing that huge smile you’re going to be having on your face the whole time.

If you don’t feel like running, you can also volunteer to be a colour bomber. Which means you get to pelt the passing runners with as much colour as they can handle. Sound awesome? Learn more about volunteering here .

To get twice the amount of colour, you can also sign up for the unaffiliated run, The Color Run . This run is also a 5K and will be taking place on September 14, 2013 at the PNE fairgrounds.

Whether you check out Color me Rad or The Color Run, or both, you’re going to have an awesome time! This run is designed for ultimate satisfaction — just remember, you may be a little bit… colourful… on your way home, so plan your route accordingly!

Reminder: Color me Rad takes place on October 5th at the UBC campus. The Color Run takes place on September 14th, at the PNE. We’ll try and overlook the fact that they both forgot the “u” in their spelling of colour.
