The worlds’ largest and most diffused international design awards “The A’ Design Award & Competition ” has announced results of the 2015 – 2016 design competition: 1277 Winners from 88 countries in 94 different design disciplines. A’ Design Awards were established to create awareness for good design practices and principles and the entries were carefully evaluated by an internationally influential jury panel composed of established scholars, prominent press members, creative design professionals and experienced entrepreneurs.
While the 2015 – 2016 Edition is over, entries to the 2016 – 2017 competition is now open; interested designers, artists, architects and companies could register and submit their works here where further information regarding the design competition such as evaluation criteria, key dates, list of jury members, entry forms and presentation guidelines could be obtained.

Kitch’ T® Compact Kitchen by Irena Kilibarda/Dsignedby . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The compact kitchen has sink and cooking facilities on one side, and dining area on the other side. It is a great spot for interaction and friendship after long working hours.
Shang System Multi-Functional Storage by Scene Shang . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The SHANG System allows for quick adaptation to functional needs, for example changing from a bedside table to a stool in a matter of seconds. The ease of stacking components allows one to apply multiple uses to a furniture system. Adding components is also simple and straightforward, allowing the furniture system to grow with the user.
Peacock Vase Flower Vase by Steve Lee . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. Peacock is inspired by the shape of a radially spread peacock display to form a beautiful screen with unique patterns and a central focal point. Consisting of twenty-one individual stems interconnected with each other in an organic form, the vase raises flowers higher up in the air providing more visibility and attention to the floral arrangements. Dotdotdot.frame Evolving Furniture by Leonid Davydov . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The Dotdotdot.frame is designed for small homes. This highly compact and customisable furniture system extends outwards only 4cm and gives its owner access to billions of configurations. Unlike any other furniture system on the market, it has been designed to adapt to the needs and preference of the modern individual.Playwood Connector Playwood Is Modular Furniture System by Stefano Guerrieri. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. PlayWood is a modular furniture system that uses 3d print connectors and boards to make desks, shelves and stools. Just combine connectors and boards.
Hideaway Chair Children’s Chair by Think & Shift. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The Hideaway Chair provides children with a comforting sense of enclosure; a place to rest that is private, relaxing and quiet.
Spiral Stool Stool by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. Spiral Stool is developed with the idea of creating structural module, which can hold around 100 kg for seating usage, with only cardboard material. With fine-tuned detail and precisely manufactured pieces, the stool can be assembled without any glue or hardware.Vision Sink by Ana Silva. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. Ergonomic sink in which each side has a function. On the bowl and tap side, a washing zone, and on the opposite side a draining area in order to provide better interaction and division of spaces and tasks. The glass cover/board adds more functions, since it can be used as a chopping board or as a cover to hide the bowl and the tap, creating a neater and tidier area
One Sheet Bookshelf by Yee Cheung Adrian Lo . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The designer was “inspired by the material property of steel itself, harvesting the delight of its related industrial processes, to create a clean and bold design.”
Trio Bench Multifunctional Bench by Yazan Hijazin . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. Trio Bench is a multi-functional upholstered bench that seats up to 5 people. However, in few seconds, the user/client can manually interact with the piece, and turn this bench into a recliner/chez lounge with 2 new positions. Honeycomb Bookshelf by Seyed Mohammad Mortazavi is Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. An organic bookshelf designed with hexagonal cells in different sizes. Lilla Multifunctional Table by Jessica Herrera. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. Lilla is helpful in creating a dynamic fusion between a dining table and a desk. To utilize the volume a table takes up more efficiently the Lilla table has storage space for kitchenware on one side and office supplies on the other. The tabletop is conveniently split in two for ease when storing or retrieving items. The inside has deep felt pockets to keep items organized and in place.Shard Changeable Table by Tsvetan Petkov . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. This convertible table can be used as a bar or a coffee table.
The New Dressing Table by Ece Yilmaz . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. This dressing table has been designed to be a solution for the problems that women face every day. The mirror’s positioning allows the user to do her makeup without having to lean in towards the mirror, it also acts as a cabinet with no obstructions.
Dimple Multifunctional Stool by Ante International Ltd. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The defining feature of this stool is its compact and light nature. It allows the user to carry it comfortably and safely one-handed anywhere around the home. Constructed of semi-rigid felt, it maintains its shape, yet provides a firm and comfortable seat. The stool can also be emptied for use as a storage basket. Arhus Bookcase by Gerardo Ríos . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. In addition to the lines and joy of the 60’s influence, this bookcase has 3 sliding doors that can be customized, with different glass colors to choose from, the doors are built with a wooden base and a front laminated glass 9 different vivid colors to choose from, so there is one for every taste or purpose. Mybath Bathroom Cabinet by Kemal Yıldırım. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The bathroom cabinet was designed with a concept that is suitable for use by everyone from 7 to 70 years of age. It was aimed for children to be able to use the washbasin and mirror safely with the movable step below and by forming a handle at the counter. Clino Wheelbarrow Table by Dario Rose . Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. Clino is a garden table that is easy to move from one space to another. Combine Office Desk by Mehmet Lutfi Hidayetoglu. Winner in Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Category, 2015 – 2016. The design of this office desk includes the users in the design process and thanks to the conical foot shape; it can be assembled without feeling the need for any tools and materials.
