If your heart is in need of a little swooning today, be sure to revisit Kayla and Jon's engagement story that we previously shared. Our Fave, Melanie Gabrielle , captured their love once again during their magical Key West wedding that had the right balance of formal elegance and Floridian charm.
The two chose a Key West destination for their weekend long celebration. Their aim was to enjoy several days with their loved ones rather than a single night and they definitely fulfilled that goal! The weekend was kicked off with a remarkable welcome reception at Casa Marina's Sun-Sun Restaurant for their "Toes in the Sand" sunset dinner. The next morning, Kayla and her girls relaxed in their silky pink robes as they got ready for the big day.
Looking back, her favorite moment of the day was the when she walked down the aisle toward Jon. She says, "As cliché as it sounds, even though we had a before-look, it was still so magical seeing my soon to be husband standing at the altar waiting for me."
Kayla suggests writing personal vows and creating a ceremony that's meaningful to your relationship. Her favorite part of Jon's vows to her incorporated their processional song, as well: "You Are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne.
They selected the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum to host the ceremony and reception. The historic architecture, beautiful local foliage and native palms were exactly what they were looking for to complete their elegant garden party.
The evening continued with guests dining under a canopy of palm trees and cafe lights. Dori from Marathon Florist, Inc. created lush arrangements with fluffy white hydrangea and tons of candlelight, the bride's favorite detail of the whole day. Gentlemen enjoyed cigars while everyone toasted to the newlyweds and danced underneath the sparkly lights and chandelier. Such a fun and elegant night!
Cheers to a fabulous life together!
