What is your favorite wedding day memory?
Although every part of our special day was full of memories we will cherish forever, my favorite would have to be seeing Garret for the first time. Walking up behind him through the orchard was very emotional for me. I saw him standing there, reading a letter I gave him, and I couldn’t help the tears from flowing. Reality kicked in, and I was making the best decision of my life! The look on his face when he turned around to see me was something I will never forget.
What did you DIY for your wedding?
Together with our family and friends, we DIY-ed almost everything. My Mom and Sister (matron of honor) helped me every step of the way. It started out with spending countless hours on Pinterest, planning every part of our special day. We cut all the wood for our decor, refinished furniture, planted planters for our centrepieces, sewed cutlery holders and table runners, made our own programs, and much more. Having both grown up on a farm, we made all details suited perfectly for us. This worked well for using things from the farm such as old barn windows and hay bales for seating.
Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?
RELAX!! Both my husband and I are both very laid back, so we didn’t stress out about anything. I think that is what made our day so much fun and memorable. On your big day, you don’t really notice all the little details you planned, and why should you. It’s all about marrying your best friend, and spending the day with cherished family and friends! – Alicia, the bride
