DIY Wedding | Robbie + Amanda

“Robbie has been a friend of mine for over 10 years, so when his fiancee, Amanda, asked if we would shoot their wedding, I was thrilled! Sean and I had the honor of capturing their wedding day in beautiful British Columbia on Vancouver Island. The light, off-and-on sprinkling of rain didn’t dampen any spirits. One of the things I remember most about their wedding day was how many friends and family from across the globe were in attendance. The love you could feel surrounding Robbie and Amanda that day was incredible! To top it all off, their resort venue was in the woods and on the beach at the same time… and as you can see it was magical.” – Brooke Photography & Design

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

Don’t stress! Keep perspective. A wedding is not about how well you can pull off your theme, how many hours you can spend on picking out the best of everything, or how much you can save or spend on the details. The most important thing is the person you are marrying and the family and friends who are coming to support you. A wedding only lasts a day, a strong marriage lasts a lifetime.

Without our parents support our wedding would not have happened. And without the love and presence of our friends and family our wedding would not have been complete. Special thanks to Suzanne and Tigh-Na-Mara for excellent service that went above and beyond to make our day so memorable. – Amanda, the bride
