Sometimes you just have to sit back, relax and remember that a wedding is all about love, union and a great party! Judy and Ari’s main goal was to throw a fantastic party for their family and friends while celebrating their love for each other and their city! With great New York touches and and impeccable style, they definitely delivered! Check out these beautiful photos from Jacqueline Patton Photography .
Judy had two dresses for the occassion. She wore a beautiful Jason Wu gown with an asymmetrical neckline and a black sash at the waist. For the reception, she changed into a more traditional red dress which we absolutely adore; such a great way to pay respect to your culture while keeping it modern and fresh!
With Ari in his perfectly fitted navy tux, the two hit the streets of Manhattan for photos in Gramercy Park and Tompkins Square Park. ”Having met in Manhattan and lived there for many years, we envisioned the day as not only a celebration of our union but of the city we loved,” said Judy.
“Before the wedding, Ari and I participated in a tea ceremony, a traditional Chinese ritual where the bride and groom pour tea for their elders while they dispense marriage advice,” said Judy. ”We also signed our Ketubah, a marriage contract signed before a Jewish wedding ceremony. We loved bringing our respective backgrounds together.”
The venue they chose was Bath House Studios which dates back to 1904. To incorporate both of their backgrounds, the couple decided to have a hand-painted red double happiness symbol on the canopy of their chuppah. They also combined autumnal elements of decor inside the beautiful building with soft lighting and pear branches. Deep reds and oranges brought the venue to life along with floating candles and amber lighting. The colors were dramatic without being too dark and stood out beautifully against the white linens. We love the subtle Chinese zodiac symbols printed on various items throughout the night!
Sometimes after a full night of dancing, cake is just not enough. Judy and Ari hired a Mr. Softee truck to serve guests delicious treats – genius! After an ice cream cone we’d be ready to keep the party going! Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
