REZZ Delivers Her Patented Dark Industrial Tech With “Selector”

REZZ Delivers Her Patented Dark Industrial Tech With “Selector”This has been a breakout year for REZZ . As one of the latest signings to the mau5trap family, she’s received the personal seal of approval from the label’s illustrious leader, deadmau5 , as well as Skrillex via his Nest HQ imprint . Her unique take on techno and bass music has caught the ears of many in the industry, and her ability to craft bass-heavy downtempo bangers has earned her a massive fanbase in a short amount of time. Plus, she’s apparently a branding and marketing genius. Her trippy custom LED goggles suit her sound perfectly, giving her an extraterrestrial look and hypnotizing her audiences even more deeply.

Something Wrong Here, her sophomore EP on mau5trap out this week, sees REZZ pushing the envelope further with her dark industrial grooves. Standout track “Selector” opens with a nightmare-inducing synthline supported by equally shadowy strings, then dropping into a whomping, stomping bassline.

REZZ has no reservations about her self-described “weird” style. Her DJ sets are made up mostly of her own originals and are underlined by a slumping, downtempo feel throughout. And while her style may not be what most people are used to raging out to, it definitely rocks the dancefloor. Even with her signature space goggles on, her vision is clear.

In support of Something Wrong Here, REZZ is kicking off the Lunatic Tour with masked bass maniac Malaa next week. It all touches down at Exchange LA Friday, October 14 , in Downtown Los Angeles.

Says REZZ:

As expected, the EP is extra dark. It is inspired by feelings I’ve felt and a vibe that exists in the depth of my brain. Each track is totally different from one another, and I hope every fan will be satisfied.

[“Selector” is a] fan favorite from my sets. It is finally being released, and in no better way than this particular EP. It is rhythmic in the drops and creepy in the melodies—exactly the way I like.

Something Wrong Here from REZZ is out Friday, October 7 on mau5trap .
