In just a few short days, the dance music community will descend upon Las Vegas for what is fast becoming one of the most important industry events of the year: the EDMbiz Conference & Expo . Starting Tuesday, June 14, and running through Thursday, June 16, at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, EDMbiz will host headlining keynote speeches from industry legends Moby , Armin van Buuren , and, in his first keynote speech ever, Insomniac CEO and Founder Pasquale Rotella . All elements and activations surrounding EDMbiz will encompass the conference’s three cornerstones: Experience, Technology and Aspiration.
This year’s conference has expanded to include a second stage hosted by Billboard Dance/Electronic senior editor Matt Medved , who will be leading discussions alongside the industry’s most notable and cutting-edge innovators, creators and talent. The full schedule includes no-holds-barred discussions on hot button issues affecting the music industry, from gender equality and drug culture in dance music.
Nielsen, the global leading information and measurement company, will be dissecting the “EDM Bubble” in the EDM Is Dead! Long Live EDM! panel. This session will recap the market trends for EDM sales and streaming, and focus on the value EDM fans bring to consumer brands and the live event industry.
At the top of each day of EDMbiz 2016, attendees will have the chance to align mind and body with an invigorating yoga session led by the Divine Movement . Also, at the close of each day, EDMbiz will host its first-ever Networking Happy Hour, a unique chance for badge holders to mingle with peers and mentors while decompressing and discussing the days’ events.
Additionally, EDMbiz 2016 also offers a variety of special programming, including the return of the industry-favorite EDMbiz A&R contest and the first-ever Hackathon. Also, this year EDMbiz introduces a new mentorship program—hosted by Little Empire Music and SkyLight—designed to empower and educate young, aspiring professionals and to cover a diverse range of topics.
