It’s a new year which means it’s time for some new fabulous weddings! To start off your Monday let’s go back to when there was a bit less snow on the New York streets…
Sometimes you find love where you least expect it. Blind dates and high school sweet hearts tend to the be norm, but how about a dodgeball team? Arie and Ben met on the court of an intramural dodgeball game and the rest was history. After some snow boarding trips and a tennis tournament with the future in-laws, Ben popped the question! Twah Dougherty from Style Art Life joined the couple on their wedding day to capture every style detail! Take a peek!
Arie wore a stunning sweetheart neckline Marisa gown in ivory, with three layers of silk organza which created a very soft and romantic feel. She accessorized, classically, with a veil by Ansonia , Jimmy Choo shoes, and David Yurman jewelry. Her beautiful and whimsical silhouette fell perfectly against the rushing NYC atmosphere.
Ben and his groomsmen wore Black by Vera Wang tuxedos and David Yurman cufflinks. We love the attention to detail with the cufflinks – they definitely add a little something extra to a man’s attire. Arie’s ladies wore Bari Jay chiffon, strapless gowns with sweetheart necklines and had the perfect amount of sparkle with their David Yurman Petite Albion necklaces in amethyst and onyx.
The bouquets, made by Designs by Ahn , were a great mix of pastels to accent the purple of the dresses while remaining fresh and clean.
The adorable ring bearer and flower girl sported Joseph & Feiss and Janie & Jack , respectively. How cute is her headband? He carried a vintage pewter glass ring box and she held a basket of white garden rose petals down the aisle.
The couple had their ceremony in the ballroom of The W Hotel and lined the aisle with lanterns and white rose petals. The altar itself was created from a metal arch and decorated with linens, hanging glass bowls and flower strings. ”I think both Arie and I are pretty classic people but with modern tastes,” said Ben. We think that theme came across beautifully!
Pewter lanterns transitioned over into the reception as centerpieces on top of lilac tables and were filled with candles to create a more intimate and romantic feel in the room. Tables styles were alternated between this and tall arrangements of seasonal branches with hanging candles in glass vases. Alternating not only table styles, but also heights, are a great way to keep the room interesting and dynamic. The three tiered ivory cake, made by Carlo’s Bakery , was decorated with cascading white sugar roses and small patterns of swiss dots.
Not only was there a fabulous cake, but a delicious table of sweets from Sugar Sweet Sunshine was set up featuring all white candies. From yogurt pretzels to grapefruit gummy slices, there was everything your sweet tooth could want! Guests were able to fill their gray and white chevron bags full of treats and save them for midnight snacks!
