After they were introduced by the great city of New York, Darci and Benjamin created a great friendship and slowly realized that they were a perfect match! Kimberly Coccagnia was there on their wedding day to snap beautiful, atherial moments at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden . We love the natural, soft, and sweet feel of this wedding – it’s lesser known side of New York that we truly love!
Darci wore a sleeveless ivory floor-length, lace sheath dress with an empire waist, deep front v-neck and open back with a puddle train by Angela Lambrou . We love the simple yet stunning silhouette of this dress that fit Darci perfectly. It’s a perfect out-door wedding dress that complements the scenery but has its own character with its small details of lace. She paired the dress with a Serephine Nicole Rhinestone Birdcage Veil, Dolce Vita shoes, heirloom earrings and a Yumi Kim clutch. The gold accent of the clutch is a great pop of sparkle and different from the usual pearl white most bride’s carry.
Darci’s wanted her bridesmaids to express themselves and feel gorgeous in their own way. ”I simply told each of them choose a dress they love in soft, earth tone colors,” said Darci. This is a great way to really give your girls “a dress they can wear again” all while creating a cohesive look. Benjamin’s men wore grey suits to keep with the earthy color palette. Flowers of beige, soft pink and greens were used to give an airy and light feel.
Ben wore Brooks Brothers from head to toe with grandfather’s azul cufflinks (something old or borrowed isn’t just for the bride!) He and the groomsmen wore earth tone ties from various designers.
The couple was married next to a large willow tree in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden under a huppah of birch poles and sheer white fabric. With the natural beauty and the beautiful bouquets of flowers, they decided to keep decor minimal and allow the space to speak for itself.
The reception took place under the glass ceiling of the Palm House accented with ribbon chandeliers from The Party New York and rustically elegant centerpieces of ferns, blushing brides, dahlias, thistle and olive branch arrangements made by Fox Fodder Farms .
Darci used to be a graphic designer and worked with Mercurio Brothers Printing to create earth toned programs, invitations and menus that had great personal touches on them of the bride and groom’s life! A Jenga set was on hand for guests to write notes, wishes, and ideas for the couple – such a great way to remember your big day while playing a fun game together for years to come!
“The glass dome of the Palm House allowed us to dine and dance the night away as the sky changed from sunlight to stars,” said Darci. They later cut the cake made by Charles Sally Charles , of mocha mousseline and bittersweet ganache – yum!
