This Harvard Law couple had attended the same undergrad and law school but didn’t meet until after graduation in New York City. Having their wedding at the Harvard Club of New York City seemed like the perfect idea and best suited their need for a large venue. Moss & Issac captured the beautiful elements of Maggie and Steven’s chic wedding and we love the attention to detail!
Maggie wore a stunning Rivini gown with a sweetheart necklace, lace overlay and an embellished waistline. She paired it with a pair of gold open toe Manolo Blahnik and simple jewelry. To honor her late father, Maggie had her initials and his college football number embroidered in blue underneath her dress and tied his college ring to her bouquet. Her mother and Steven also carried handkerchiefs with his number on them.
The couple worked with Postscript Brooklyn to create invitations, programs, napkins, etc. with their favorite NYC skylines. Their invitation depicted an Upper West Side building that is near Steven’s childhood apartment and their “thank you” notes showed a street sign of their street. We love the personal touches used in the paper that reflect their lives and city.
In order to not compete with the Harvard Club’s decor, the couple chose to enhance it with candles and low lush flower arrangements in reds and purples giving it a modern and elegant feel. ”When I walked into Harvard Hall, where the ceremony was, the room just radiated warmth and love,” said Maggie. ”It’s hard to describe but it really took my breath away.”
The groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos while the bridesmaids wore dark navy blue floor length dresses from J. Crew . Their sweetheart necklines and silhouettes complemented Maggie’s gown beautifully.
Their guest book mirrored the theme of the paper with New York skylines. They used a designer on Etsy to create this beautiful wood cut guest book with their names and the date on the front. We love the subtle tones of red in the candles and flowers and how they picked up on the Harvard crimson in the club. The tablescapes looked fresh and elegant with the various heights of decor and crisp white flatware.
Their white cake wrapped with navy and topped with fresh flowers combined the colors of the decor as well as the colors used in the bridal party. The colors paired beautifully together to represent the fall months, instead of the usual golds and maroons.
