We are so excited here at Bayside Bride to team up with Capital Custom Clothiers to start a new project for the blog! Angie from Capital Custom Clothiers will be writing a biweekly article for our new “For the Groom” section. Every few weeks we will post articles that benefit the groom with tips such as unique bachelor party ideas or finding the right tux for your wedding day! We want to show how important and beneficial it will be to have the groom involved in the wedding planning process. Every wedding day should be a combination of both partners’ opinions.

Traditionally, it seems the groom has very little say in the planning process. Perhaps this is because the groom leaves these details to his bride, or because the bride is convinced she does not need her groom to have a say. Whatever the case may be, we believe that any reason for not having the groom involved in the wedding day preparations is not a good reason at all. Your wedding day is about celebrating two lives that are being joined. This special day should incorporate the bride and groom as a couple. Nowadays grooms are becoming more involved in the planning of their wedding. Couples are choosing to get married later in life which often means that the groom takes some of the financial responsibility; as a result the groom may feel he can have more input. Our “For the Groom” section will allow brides to feel confident that their grooms are in good hands when making decisions about their day.
Your marriage will be two people coming together as one team. Preparing your wedding day together will be the first phase of what is to come. Marriage isn’t always easy, and there must be compromise and agreement. Planning together allows you to learn even more about each other’s families, and all the traditions and cultures that are important to each side. You can work through the stress of planning together and learn how to budget costs, all things you will be dealing with as a married couple.
Picking out flower arrangements and table centerpieces may not be the most interesting for a groom, but what better way to show your love for your bride than by taking part in some details of the wedding. A groom does have a part to play. Besides picking out their tux and writing their vows, the groom has to help his groomsmen as well!

We know that even though most guys don’t like to admit it, they all have a romantic side. They swept their bride off of her feet so they’re doing something right! Whether they admit it or not, most grooms would like to have a say into a lot of the details that go into planning a wedding. With very little resources for grooms to gather ideas from, we hope to start to share our tips and ideas that we have for our grooms. They are just as much a part of the wedding as the bride, and we cannot wait to start providing them with the information they need to make their wedding day the perfect start of a fabulous marriage!
Make sure to leave us comments and let us know what articles you’d like to see come of the new series!
