A few weeks ago I took hold of the beautiful weather and the fact that my little brothers were on spring break and decided to take them to Annapolis. After wandering downtown for a bit they told me that they had never been to the Naval Academy! Well this Bayside Bride editor just couldn’t bear the thought, so we turned our afternoon into a tour day. Every time I’m there, I am amazed at the gem of a place that lies our city’s bounds. The beautiful buildings all done in the classically ornate Beaux-Arts and sweeping waterfront views. This sounds a little ridiculous, but make sure you take the chance to be a tourist in your own city every once in a while.
Today’s wedding by Abby Grace captures the academy’s beauty in ceremony photographs and as the backdrop to bridal portraits. And even in such a setting, this couple outshines their surroundings! This entire day looks like it was ripped from the glossy pages of an Annapolis Wedding magazine. Abby tells us that so many aspects of this wedding were DIYed, which is hard to believe since everything looks so immaculate! All of it was due to the handmade efforts of the bride and her fantastic team of vendors (many of which can be found in our vendor guide )
Abby shared that,”David & Heather’s wedding day was perfect, despite the chilly weather outside. Heather is a DIY queen and made sure the reception was dripping with handmade details, and the bride herself has never looked more radiant! I love all of the sweet details that made their wedding a true reflection of who they are- the mason jars were a nod to David’s growing up with him mom’s homemade canned jams, and the brooches in Heather’s bouquet were from her grandmother.”
