We are all at home, happy and healthy (and yes, sleep deprived). Jack is a wonderful baby...pretty easy and mellow, with the exception of some breastfeeding and weight issues that will hopefully subside once we both get a little more practice. He will sleep on top of anyone's chest, anytime, anywhere, and gets the CUTEST little baby hiccups on a pretty regular basis. He loves to move, too! He was always kicking me in the ribs when he was in my belly, and now I can see why. He's always kicking and moving around, even when he's sleeping. He even manages to roll on his side on a regular basis! At only a few days old! I know that I'm biased, but he's definitely the smartest, most agile newborn that I've ever seen ;) Dale and I call him Houdini because he has the remarkable ability of being able to get out of any swaddle, no matter how tight - he absolutely hates having his arms stuck underneath the blanket and always manages to wriggle them free :)
Baby Jack Born March 28th
Hey guys! I am so happy to share the recent arrival of my precious little baby boy, Jack Mason. He was born three weeks early at 37 weeks on March 28th at 1:28 p.m. His early delivery came as a big surprise to his dad and I, when I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure early last week. I was induced on Wednesday, the 27th, and after 28 hours of labor without making any progress, Jack was born on Thursday afternoon via C-section at 7 pounds 9 ounces. He is the most beautiful and precious little person, and Dale and I are SO in love with him! I just stare at him all the time...I still can't believe that we made him :) It's kind of a toss up who he looks like more at this point. He definitely looks a lot like Dale when he was a baby, but his fair skin and blonde hair could be more me!
