Bright Bridesmaids Looks | Dress for the Wedding

You may remember in my posts at the start of this winter, I was really into muted hues. Well, I must have temporarily reached my limit with pale colors, because I have been craving an infusion of bright colors in my own wardrobe, and also in wedding looks! I think these short dark days of winter have left me wanting a big dose of sunshine in any form. Are you needing some color, too?

Since bridesmaids dresses are sometimes the first decision a bride makes when bringing her signature hue to a wedding, they are the perfect vehicle for adding a big shot of color intensity. With that in mind, I’ve put together three different bridesmaids looks showing some bright wedding color combinations that would be perfect for warmer-weather wedding colors, or great for a tropical destination wedding.

Coral and Turquoise

Coral and turquoise was a favorite color combination of mine to wear last summer, and months later, I still haven’t tired of it. It’s a natural color combination, and is easy to find paired together like in the coral and turquoise cocktail ring and tie. This Aria Bridesmaids’ dress is a bit of a pinky coral hue, as opposed to orange coral or red coral. I think the pink can be flattering on so many skin types, but you can pick from Aria’s entire range of hues which includes classic coral, too. With finishing accents like the bright blue flower at the waist and some blue pumps, your bridesmaids will be radiant all the way down the aisle.

Robin’s Egg Blue and Hot Pink

Call it Robin’s Egg blue, Tiffany blue, or turquoise or aquamarine, this classic pale greenish-blue dress by Alfred Sung and available at The Dessy Group , also plays nicely with pink. This time, instead of coral, I’ve chosen a hot purplish pink as the accent color. It can be brought in combinations shown in the tie, necklace, and bracelet, with bolder pops of solid bright hot pink in the shoes. Keeping all the hot pink pieces simple, small, and classic keeps this look from being too crazy and bright, and just makes it festive!

Red, Orange,  and Lemon Yellow

My command of high school level Spanish has almost left me, but the combination of yellow and a reddish-orange makes me want to say,”muy caliente!” which was always one of my favorite phrases. This lemony shade against the red orange is as hot as the sun. To keep it from being too much, I put in simple matching jewelry, kept the groomsmen’s tie a solid color, and finished the bridesmaid’s look with a neutral — but still fun — rose gold metallic strappy heel. Think of the fun flower color combinations with this look!

Even if you’re not escaping to somewhere warm this winter, I hope this peek into summer-inspired colors has brightened up this January day for you and has you dreaming up ways of adding a little warmth into your wedding color palette.

Stay toasty!
