From the Bride…
I had a boho-chic yet classic and elegant vision for our big day, and my parents, florist, bridesmaids, and resort staff made this the most beautiful reality. I also have known since I was a child that I was going to wear my mothers dress, which her mother wore as well. We are all “Rebeccas” and it was an incredibly special feeling to carry on the tradition. As John likes to say, he did his duty by proposing, and while he had a few specific things he envisioned, he mostly stepped back and wanted July 25, 2015 to be the wedding day of my dreams, which speaks to his truly kind and generous character.
How did the two of you meet?
John and I had a true twenty-first century courtship. It began from afar on twitter, Instagram and eventually Facebook through mutual friends – Like after Like after Favorite after reply. Eventually we got together with these mutual friends and the rest is pretty much history. I knew the second week we were together that I wanted to marry him, and although I think it took him a little longer my instincts sure were correct. When John proposed on the porch at his parents’ house, where it all began, I was shocked, elated, and immediately informed him that it was my dream to have our wedding at The Homestead.

Let me just start by saying Rebecca + John’s wedding was spectacular. It felt like a fairy tale. I think it would be hard to find a much more beautiful setting for such a special day than The Omni Homestead Resort in the mountains of Virginia. It was the end of July, but the weather was so perfect that it felt like early fall.
