One of the fastest growing women’s active brands in Europe is finally making its way over the pond. Norwegian brand Kari Traa will introduce their line of base layers and sport accessories to the US market in time for fall. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill base layers either– these are fun, colorful, well-fitting pieces that are meant to see the light of day.
Named after Olympic gold medal freestyle skier Kari Traa herself, the company was founded in 2002 after Kari found big success knitting colorful beanies for friends and colleagues. Today, Kari Traa has evolved into Scandinavia’s leading sports brand for women, offering a complete line of training apparel, outerwear, skiwear, and sport accessories. The brand is less about hard-charging performance and more about having fun and being playful–evident in their bold, creative styles.
For its Fall/Winter 2015 debut in North America, Kari Traa will focus on the base layer line, including the Svala series and bestselling Rose series. The Svala line features a quick-drying stretch fabric–a unique mixture of dri-release polyester and wool, providing optimal warmth and breathability when hitting the slopes or taking a run in the neighborhood.
The Rose collection is Kari Traa’s premium, best-selling wool base layer. Using 100% superfine merino wool makes it soft on the skin, breathable, and naturally odor-resistant. The base layers feature a feminine cut and Scandanavian-inspired design.
