Combine a carabiner and a coat hanger and you might get the Qlipter . This to-be-launched product is a basic carabiner equipped with a hook.
You fold the hook out to hang it on a branch or anything else outside. Then you can clip a backpack or other item to the ‘biner, giving a solid hanging place to organize gear, grab food, or just simply keep your stuff off the ground.
It has a 50-pound weight limit and is meant only for hanging small or medium size objects. Do not use it in climbing situations.
I tested the Qlipter out and the unit worked slick — the carabiner is a normal pear-shape ‘biner, and the integrated hook stays in place when not needed and folds out easily.
You hook the arm over a branch to secure. Or, a rubbery end point on the hook lets it “stick” to an object like a shelf. The arm also rotates 360 degrees to make hanging anything up easier.
The company is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter , and it has already surpassed its goal. A $20 pledge gets you a Qlipter when they ship this summer.
