Remember when it wasn’t winter? Let’s go back to those warm days spent on the beach, soaking up the sun. Today’s Real Wedding comes to us from the picture perfect Mykonos, Greece. With a natural palette of sandstone, stark white, and bold blues, this location is ideal for a wedding and makes planning easy. Vangelis Photography captured breathtaking photos of Genevieve and Nathan’s wedding day, so take a look! We promise, it’ll take your mind off the cold.
The Canadian Genevieve and English Nathan met on a trip in Honduras and have traveled to many different countries, fulfilling their travel junkie needs! It was only natural for them to choose a destination wedding that combined a multinational and romantic theme, and Mykonos Villa Crew drew them in immediately with its effortless beauty.
Genevieve wore a gorgeous sweet heart neckline strapless La Sposa gown with elegant embroidered floral details and a beautiful train in the back. She paired it was a scalloped lace edged veil and Goldsmiths jewelry for the ceremony and later changed her accessories for a more evening friendly look.
Nathan and his groomsmen wore Ermenegildo Zegna heather grey suits with white shirts, brown shoes and soft pink and blue ties. We love the light colored suits for this setting – they are fresh, classic and blend perfectly with the spectacular background of Mykonos.
The bridesmaids looked beautiful in soft pink, empire waist, chiffon, dresses with flirty shoulder flowers for a bit of flair! Everyone complemented each other in their soft hues of beige, pink and grey to create a simple color palette for such a naturally vibrate setting.
Since the couple couldn’t be available on location prior to the wedding, they chose to keep the affair simple and intimate. With DIY elements and a natural color palette, they let the background of Mykonos Villa Crew do the talking and only enhanced it with hydrangeas and pink roses along the altar, down the aisle, and onto the guest tables.
In order to incorporate their love for travel, Genevieve and Nathan decided to put photos of their holidays in different countries on every guest table at the reception. Such a cute idea for a destination and DIY wedding – and a great way to keep your decor personable.
We love the soft colors on the table and the various heights of flowers and vases. The light pink cake from Caramello Bakery was covered in beautiful white flowers and how precious are the “love bird” cake toppers?
After the sun set over Mykonos (which we’re sure was gorgeous!), Genevieve swapped her lace veil for a great birdcage veil headpiece. She also added a beautiful lace bolero for a more classic look – very Mediterranean, no?
