I am SO very glad that it’s finally #DIYfriday!!! I’m going to be honest… taking on 9 tutorials this week was a little crazy – but being able to share the final result with you today is making it all worth it. In case you haven’t been following along this week… I’ve shared 8 DIY felt flower tutorials, culminating in this post – how to make a gorgeous wedding bouquet entirely out of felt. This bouquet isn’t for everyone. Only the most hardcore DIY bride should carry this gorgeous bunch down the aisle…
SUPPLIES:
- DIY felt flowers ( peony , calla lily , dusty miller , cabbage rose , eucalyptus leaves , anemone , ranunculus , and billy balls )
- wool felt in sage
- good scissors
- hot glue gun – that does “low heat”
- 26 gauge floral wire
- wire cutters
- wide ribbon
Start with 5 large flowers, arrange them the way you like and wrap their stems together with 1 piece of cut wire.
Now it’s time to wrap the stems in felt… cut a large piece to wrap the length of the wires and a small piece to wrap the ends.
Hot glue and cover the very ends of your wire with felt. This not only secures your stems but protects your hands from those sharp wires!
Isn’t it beautiful! Now you can leave the bouquet stem just as it is… or you can cover with ribbon! See below…
