Hello Friends! I wanted to share the special celebration of Passover with you. It’s a wonderful time to gather the family for a Seder (Seder customs include telling the story, discussing the story, drinking four cups of wine, eating matzah, partaking of symbolic foods placed on the Passover Seder Plate, and reclining in celebration of freedom. The Seder is performed in much the same way by Jews all over the world). My older sister Jaye is a wonderful cook and I’m the chosen one to dress the tables and buffet. Although it looks like a simple dinner party it takes days to prepare. All the hard work is very rewarding when you see everyone enjoying your efforts and telling stories of Passovers past. Enjoy our evening…xox Mindy 7 Market baskets!
Pre-seder snacks waiting for all to arrive. This is not traditional but it sure keeps everyone happy while they to wait for the first bite of dinner.

I bought pebble rocks at the Home Depot and used them for placecards. Irene in our office was nice enough to calligraph them all. I received great help from our friend Tanya Sowa, She helped with the florals! The vessel for the succulents were found at anthropologie and I plan on re-purposing them several times! My fav was the string of pearls that rested on the napkins next to the rock.
The Seder begins with a blessing and the lighting of the candles.
We went for a natural, desert feeling , lots of succulents and mixtures of cremes, woods and greens. Votives wrapped in burlap. creme canvas chair covers by revelry and my sisters linens and napkins.
a wonderful blessing we had 4 sets of twins at our seder!
Two of my boys were already full before dessert!
Yum some of guests bought or made their favorite sweets and well… I had to try them all!
love how all the food was labeled! Your guests want to know what they are eating especially with all the food allergies. The Labels should tie into your decor or theme.
Coffee set up I adored! You can always find interesting pieces in your cabinets and they don’t have to match! This Jadeite does make a lovely set up. Thanks Jaye for a lovely delicious evening!
…and that’s my cute hubby (yes I know he looks like Jon Stewart) whenever I can celebrate with my family I feel so fortunate!
My sister made homemade haroset in a small mason jar for a parting gift. Haroset is one of the symbolic foods on the Passover Seder Plate. After reciting the blessings, and eating a matzah “sandwich” combining haroset and maror, the remainder is often eaten plain, spread on matzah. It is so delicious, apples, cinnamon, nuts…and we sneak and eat it throughout the seder. Many recipes on line.
Special Thanks to my Nephew Spencer Hersh for his wonderful pictures…
