“Don’t you love it when the groom-to-be is as excited as his fiancee? When Harrison contacted me about arranging a surprise proposal for his girlfriend, Casey, I immediately said Yes! Not only are proposals so fun to be a part of, but Harrison was so excited for the big day. He stayed involved during the whole process – we exchanged a number of emails including their “story” and Google Earth print screens with X’s for where they planned to stand during the proposal! When the day finally rolled around, it was cold and rainy! It wasn’t what either of us had envisioned. I emailed him the day before asking what they would be wearing so I could bring an appropriately colored umbrella. To my surprise, he accurately guessed her entire outfit – now that’s a guy who knows his bride! The weather and yellow umbrella actually made for a really cute shoot. Enjoy!” – For the Love of Juneau Photography
“Our proposal was perfect. Harrison planned out a ‘progressive’ proposal that incorporated time to ourselves, family time, and time with all of our friends. It was the essence of who we are!
..The proposal was on December 14th, and my birthday is December 18th, so I thought we were going out to pick up my birthday gift and head to dinner. Harrison told me he told me he had ordered my gift from Etsy.com , and that we needed to pick it up because it was too heavy to ship. I absolutely love Etsy, and I had been looking at new bedside tables lately, so I was convinced we were getting a new bedside table! It was raining when we got there – wherever we were going – and I asked if I needed to get out of the car. I realize now why he was adamant he needed help, and I needed to step out into the rain. As we were standing on the sidewalk, Harrison asked if I remembered the last time we were at this spot on Highland Avenue. It was the spot he had asked me on our first date a year and a half earlier – in the rain no less! It all started to hit me at once as he then proposed, and pointed to the photographers across the street. He was so thoughtful to have the whole thing captured on film. The surprises didn’t end there! It was truly ‘progressive’ and full of surprises! After taking photos together, we went back to our place and he had a bottle of champagne waiting with gorgeous champagne glasses my parents had sent down. We had about an hour to ourselves before dinner, where I was shocked once again. Harrison had our families waiting at dinner so we could enjoy our engagement all together as new, larger family. What could be more special than celebrating together, than with our families? Celebrating with family AND friends. For his final surprise that night, when we returned home with our families, we walked into a condo full of our closest friends waiting with champagne and snacks to celebrate. The WHOLE evening was simply perfect and everything I could have wanted it to be…
..Harrison got a referral for Briana ( For the Love of Juneau Photography ), and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience or our photos. They truly capture who we are as a couple!
..I really love looking through wedding blogs like Style Me Pretty and searching through Pinterest boards for inspiration. They feature so many styles of weddings that you can really get some great ideas for things to replicate or make your own.” – Casey, the bride-to-be
