Anyway, enough of my whining, and onto the (wedding) business! Today is Thursday, which means I'm sharing another fabulous engagement shoot for all of you engaged couples to "ooh" and "ahh" over, this one photographed by BRITRENEE Photography . Nik and Emmy may live in San Francisco, but they share a love of traveling that takes them all over the world together. After first meeting at a friend's party, Nik eventually won Emmy's affection, and the couple began dating in 2008. "I knew very early in the relationship that she was 'The One,' and had spent much of my life seeking this woman only to find her on the other side of the planet to where I grew up," said Nik, who is from Sydney, Australia, while Emmy is from Culiacan, Mexico.
A few years later, Nik planned to propose to Emmy in Maui, Hawaii. "I [picked] Maui, as it is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, which is the ocean that bonds both Sydney, Australia...and Culiacan, Mexico. I nervously asked Emmy's father, with the help of his Spanish speaking son-in-law, for permission to marry Emmy. There was a nervous pause and look of surprise on his side, as only a year earlier, he had given his youngest daughter away for marriage and Emmy was the last daughter for him. He gave me the green light, and on April 23, 2012, I proposed to Emmy at sunset in Maui."
