It’s becoming increasingly difficult to stay on top of Do Not Sleep. Since the iconic Ibiza party took on record label status, the crew has developed into one of the most dependable names discerning dancefloors have heard in recent days. Attaching Harry Romero to their CV certainly doesn’t hurt, either, considering his history with helping shape the New York house scene. “Soul Is Another” sees him stretch his brazen NY personality over a rubbery tech house groove that’s bottled up with a message about the importance of having some soul.
Picking up where he left off is Hector Couto, who has been repping DNS on the road as one of their key residents. “Glad to join Do Not Sleep with my new remix for Harry Romero’s ‘Soul Is Another,’” says Couto. “With my version, I try to reflect a slick, high-tempo track with driving drums designed for any clubbing party around the world.” The Spanish producer’s take is pointed firmly at peak-time fare, constructed with rolling percs and an up-tempo drive that has the right vibe to get big results.
