Osmo Nutrition Taps Into Growing Sports Nutrition Market

The sports nutrition market appears to be growing fast, with many new companies popping up to take advantage of the everyday athlete's seemingly insatiable thirst. Former Specialized Marketing Director Ben Capron has teamed up with well known nutrition scientist and exercise physiologist Dr. Stacy Sims to launch a brand new sports nutrition venture called Osmo Nutrition .

Osmo Nutrition offers four special drink mixes that focus on hydration, nutrition, and recovery. The various different formulas are based on the philosophy that your body does not necessarily need electrolytes at the same time as carbohydrates.

Two drink mixes focus primarily on hydration both before and during activity. Osmo PreLoad Hydration is designed for use prior to hot events, time trials, and high intensity efforts. The drink mix increases your total body water, plasma volume, and sodium stores to maximize sustained power and reduce muscle burn.

Osmo Active Hydration helps you take in fluids and electrolytes while you exercise, hopefully delaying fatigue, boosting endurance, and maximizing cardiovascular efficiency while reducing cramping. The top three ingredients in Osmo Active are basically sugar (sucrose and glucose), as well as sodium salt, the same top three ingredients as the Skratch Labs Exercise Hydration Mix .

Two further drink mixes are designed to be consumed post workout for rapid recovery and repair. Used within 30-minutes after exercise, Osmo Acute employs nutrients to stop the breakdown effects of exercise and facilitates recovery with a combination of protein and carbohydrates.

Osmo GoodNight Recovery is meant to be consumed before bed during hard training blocks or stage races. The nighttime drink mix uses a blend of fruits, herbs, vitamins, protein, and antioxidants to induce restful sleep and rebuild muscles.

One package of the Osmo Nutrition drink mix retails for $25-$40 and includes around 20 servings, where 1 serving (1 scoop) is used to fill a 16 oz. water bottle.
