Hello you wonderful lot. So you might remember this lovely little Cwtch of the Week of Rhian and Mark we featured? Well, as a fabulously lovely bonus, the brilliant Lewis F ackrell has shared the couples entire big day with us. Firstly though, Rhian and Mark will tell us all about how their special day unfolded. Over to you guys…..
How would you describe your wedding theme?
Farmer’s daughter with a classic twist
What was your favourite part of your wedding?
Waking up at 5am & walking around the fields at home on the farm & wondering what the day ahead would be like, The vows looking out to sea on a perfect sunny day with the harp playing “Ar Lan y Mor” were simply just perfect.
Tell us about your Wedding Dress
It was a classically simple “Jesus Peiro” with a halter neck and a beautiful A line skirt, with the beautiful bow detail at the front.
Who did you pick as your bridesmaids &/or best man and why?
We decided against a Best Man & Bridesmaid and went with my 3yr old Nephew & 4yr old niece who performed their duties in style.
Why did you choose your venue?
It was an outdoor wedding and I was born around the corner from where the view out to sea ended .
Tell us about your photographer
Lewis Fackrell arranged a pre shoot so this helped a lot with understanding what we wanted on the big day. The pictures tell a story of our perfect day.
How did the proposal happen?
After a failed proposal in Rome as the Fontana de Trevi was covered in scaffolding , second attempt was the top of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales in 60mph winds ! I said yes, just to get off the mountain !!!!
Any DIY stories/tutorials you’d like to share?
The place settings were brown label tags which I changed the string and added lavender & Rosemary to each one – which ensured the room smelt lovely as the guests walked in.
What was your first dance & why?
John Legend – “All of me” – After seeing him live last year, it’s always been our song.
In hindsight, was there anything you would have done differently?
Took a moment to absorb everything, it was all over far too quickly
Do you have any advice for future couples?
Relax & enjoy every moment and try & find a quiet 5 minutes for just the two of you to absorb the fact you just got married !!!
What’s the best piece of marriage advice you received?
When you’re wrong admit it, and when you’re right don’t gloat !!!
What was your favourite thing about planning a wedding?
Making it unique and putting that individual stamp on it.
