Emma and Karl had always wanted a big, city wedding in a building with lots of character and class. They decided on the National Museum of Wales . Situated in the heart of Cardiff’s elegant civic center it, houses Wale’s is national art, geology and history collections as well as touring and temporary exhibitions. The couple decided to hold the ceremony in the Derek Williams Gallery with their glamorous reception being held in the Grand Hall. Her four bridesmaids looked amazing in their dusky pink gowns. But the groomsmen were not to be outdone and had bespoke suits made by Noose and Monkey , with the groom picking the style, fabric, colours and details for the suit.
One of the bride’s memorable moments was when Karl’s mother came in to see Emma with her dress on. It was very special for them and very emotional.
What was their favourite memory of the day? Well for Karl it was the entrance into the reception as he carried Emma to her seat. And for the bride, Emma it was the time spent in the gallery alone, after the wedding, dancing around the sculptures and having their photographs taken.
Weddings are about bringing family together and they were lucky enough to have their favours made by Karl’s Nani (grandmother). This lovely couple had Welsh cakes that were presented and beautiful gift bags.
The one thing that was very different what’s the couples cake. Well, these two are not actually lovers of cake so they decided to have a Ferrero Rocher Tower with 480 individual chocolate’s for the guests to help themselves to.
I think you will agree that yes, this wedding looks glamorous but the thing that I love the most is all the emotion that you can feel. The way that they look at each other makes me melt. Here is the rest of the wedding album to inspire you. All images courtesy of Gareth Scanlon .
