We’ve put together some of our favorite tunes from Discovery Project alumni for you. We do this regularly, so keep checking in with the Alumni Tracks You Should Know series to see the latest and greatest from our Discovery Project artists.
BIGGS “2.oh” (Kayoh Flip)
Kayoh dropped this tune last month, and it’s stayed on repeat ever since. Taking an original from fellow Discovery Project alumnus BIGGS , Kayoh pulls off a full-fledged 180 on this tune, taking the glitch bounce of the original and turning it into an evil, trap-infused banger.

Dillon Francis & NGHTMRE “Need You” (Boy Bishop & Castor Troy Super Best Friends Flip)
Discovery Project alumnus Castor Troy teamed up with his homies Boy Bishop and Cooda—all who are simply tearing up the bass scene right now—for this dirty electro remix of the Dillon Francis and NGHTMRE collab “Need You,” which is simply too hot for the SoundCloud bots. In a great feat of resampling, the boys have twisted the original bassline into something more club-ready. This is one you want to play all the way through, as it just gets nastier with each drop.

Convex “Burning in Blue”
Convex ’s transition from heavy house beats to groovy future bass has been flawless and wonderful to witness. “Burning in Blue” is a great example of how well he has taken to the genre. The beauty of the romantic synthlines immediately strikes the listener as this track takes you away. This song is what it must feel like to make love in a spaceship while wearing a pair of clean shell toe Adidas.

Porter Robinson “Language” (Kayzo & Gammer Remix)
Kayzo and Gammer may seem like an unlikely combination, but when you consider the former’s “fuck genres” approach to making music, it starts to make sense. These two have rehashed Porter Robinson ’s future classic tune “Language” into some smashing, breakbeat hardcore that manages to maintain the beauty and emotional intensity of the original. Here’s yet another example of the wider dance music world taking a liking to the sounds of happy hardcore .

BIGGS x DJ Wall “Putoe”
Taking a popular vulgar phrase and slapping it on a tune is no new trend, but BIGGS and DJ Wall take this practice to new heights with “Putoe.” BIGGS and DJ Wall have pretty much figured out every way to make a vocal snippet of the word puto—the Spanish equivalent of “male prostitute”—sound both melodic and rhythmic. Backed up by some sexy, slappin’ tribal beats, this one may result in some serious WTF looks on the dancefloor, followed immediately by intense dancing.
