WILDLIFE WATCHING -- Bald eagles continue to pour into the Wolf Lodge Bay area of Lake Coeur d'Alene for their annual November-January gathering to feast on spawning kokanee.
"It was a rainy, cold count today but I was rewarded with good numbers," said Carrie Hugo, U.S. Bureau of Land Management wildlife biologist, who does a weekly eagle survey during the kokanee spawning period.
"There were 69 adult eagles (white heads) and 10 juveniles. Last year there were 34 eagles on the Week 3 count."
