With the month of November already here, wish lists, present buying and stocking fillers are undoubtedly stirring at the back of your mind. Well, to give you some inspiration, and to get you in the mood for the season of giving, we want to tell you about some of our past and present donations!
To begin, let’s go back to Western North Carolina AIDS Project’s (WNCAP) auction fundraiser on Sep 24, 2011. The annual event is in its 23rd year and is the second largest fundraiser of the year . This year, their theme was “Works of Heart,” a message to convey compassion and care to all in the fight against AIDS. To show our support of the WNCAP, and to join the effort to improve the lives of individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS, ENO donated hammocks and goodies for the auction.
Although the event was back in September, WNCAP is holding their 2011 HIV/AIDS Awareness Walk THIS SATURDAY (Nov. 5). To participate, meet them at The Grove House at 11.00 am for a walk through Downtown Asheville.
Next, and more recently, there was Wild South’s B enefit Concert with Lucinda Williams on Oct 15, 2011. This event, which was held at the Pisgah Brewing Company, aimed to inspire people to enjoy, value and protect the wild character and natural legacy of the South. As an outdoors company, this particular topic is dear to us, so, to show our commitment to environmental protection and prove our faith in Wild South’s dedication, we donated ENO products to their raffle!
In addition to benefit concerts, Wild South holds regular hikes in the Bankhead National Forest that raises outdoor awareness by teaching hikers the history of the wilderness. The next hike is also THIS SATURDAY (Nov. 5) and follows the Brushy Creek Indian Tomb Hollow and High House Hill – a trail part of the rich Native American history of north Alabama.
Up and coming, is the Appalachian State University Climbers Coalition (ASUCC) Climbing Competition on Nov 19, 2011. The ASUCC is an organization committed to preserving climbing rights and making climbing more main stream. In support, ENO donated goodies for their competition prizes.
