New for Spring '12, the Sundown bag from Lilypond can be used as almost anything- gym bag, weekender, yoga bag, and even carry-on. Forever committed to designing beautiful and functional products, Lilypond focuses on building a green and socially conscious business at the same time.
Made inside and out from a 100% recycled PET fabric called CYCLEPOND, the Sundown duffel bag is a versatile bottomless pit. I have been using the Sundown primarily for heading to the climbing gym, shoving a couple pairs of climbing shoes, harness, change of clothes, shower stuff, and sometimes even my helmet, bike lock, and bike shoes inside if I ride to the gym that day.
A full zippered opening makes the gym bag easy to pack and get at all the contents. The Sundown features both a padded handle and detachable padded shoulder strap for carrying. Three zippered external pockets and three zippered internal pockets with two key fobs provide plenty of organizational storage options. For the yogis, two adjustable velcro buckle straps on the bottom of the bag let you attach your yoga mat.
A side entry ventilated internal nylon pouch is great for storing your shoes, wet or dirty clothes separate from the main compartment. I personally found the pouch brilliant for storing chalk bags, as it keeps your clothes and anything else you have in your gym bag free from errant chalk puffs or spillage.
I would love the see the separate nylon pouch not take up space in the main compartment. If you load the pouch with a pair or two of shoes, it makes packing the main compartment a little tricky. Not a big deal, but it would be interesting to see the pouch as a complete side pocket addition on the duffel bag.
Bottom Line: The Lilypond Sundown bag is a lightweight, great looking duffel that can be used to store everything from your sweaty gym clothes to your swanky outfits for that weekend in New York City.
The Lilypond Sundown bag retails for $99 and comes in three different color combinations.
