Heeding the call of the dancefloor, Mar-T and Luca Donzelli are going in on more co-minted material for the masses. The response to their recent collaborations has shot through the roof, as they’ve clenched chart spots on more than a few. Matthias Tanzmann had the smarts to sign off on their next ride-along release, issuing their Disco Techno Revolution EP on his vaunted Moon Harbour imprint. It’s strapped with four mega movers for the floor.
They get extra loopy on “That Freaky Stuff,” a percussively led production demonstrating the quasi-duo’s strong sense of space. The drums dominate the majority of the movement, tumbling through the mix with superiority. As the percussive loops pull the tune through, surges of barreling low-end and off-kilter keys push a decidedly peculiar personality into the picture. Mar-T and Donzelli are doing it right.
