It's no secret we're into supporting our neighborhood finds and that includes drinking local in our area's growing beer community. We recently visited three of South Florida's premier breweries in anticiaption of South Florida Beer Week . Needless to say, I was a happy camper!
Starting in the Arts District of Miami, there's Wynwood Brewing Company . Supporting the community is top priority here and their passion is evident in each beer they create; a work of art in every glass, as they say. Inspired by the colorful displays around their 'hood, Wynwood's tap handles are spray paint cans and the tasting room is brilliant with local artists' expressions. Growth is on the horizon for this crew with a new production facility in the works, collaboration opportunities and a massive following here in South Florida.
Less than a year old and already making waves in the craft beer world is Barrel of Monks . They're brewing amazing Belgian style ales in their rustic-meets-glamorous space in Boca Raton. Truth be told, Zac gave one of the best brewery tours I've ever experienced. Pride is an obvious ingredient in the mix of spicey malts and hops that fill every barrel and bottle.
Close to my beer-loving heart and just down the road is Due South Brewing Co. in Boynton Beach. A casual, Florida lifestyle and die-hard American ingredients are staples for this thriving brewhouse. This is one of those spots you can pull up to after a long, hot day at the beach to chill out, enjoy a pint and truly forget about the fast paced world we live in.
What's most endearing about this rapidly growing beer community is the collaborative support we see. Healthy competition, yes, but overall the feeling remains: the more the merrier! Each tap room serves beer from neighboring breweries and the teams are educated and interested about the whole scene. For that reason, among others, we are so thrilled to invite representatives from each of these breweries to Social House this Thursday for our first Beer Social . Join us for an inspired tour of South Florida’s favorite breweries: Barrel of Monks Brewing, Due South Brewing Co. & Wynwood Brewing Co.
