Dinner Party Inspired Wedding at the Marston House

Dinner Party Inspired Wedding at the Marston House

A rustic wedding is made all the more special with a touch of elegance. Mackenzie and Dan’s dinner party inspired wedding began with a rustic vision and became more elevated and glamorous with the choice of Marston House in San Diego as the venue, Mackenzie’s incredibly gorgeous Justin Alexander gown, and romantic elements throughout the reception. Rachel Solomon Photography beautifully captured the day, including such lovely moments between Mackenzie and Dan after their I Dos!

The Couple:

Mackenzie and Dan

The Wedding:

Marston House , San Diego, California

The Inspiration:

I think about 23 hours after our enagement, my mom had hired Daniel Duran with Duran Events to help in planning the wedding. I knew that I wanted the ceremony to be at our church, Grace Lutheran, and the reception to be at the Marston House. At first I wanted a very rustic wedding. But when I tried on my raw silk pretty formal wedding gown, I knew that the style needed to change to something a little more elegant and traditional.

The feel that we were going for was a more fancy intimate dinner party. We loved throwing them at our home and wanted everyone to feel like they were at a friend’s house. Family style was a must because I loved the look of the big kings tables with large platters of food and that it encourage everyone to interact with each other.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment from the wedding was the toasts! Our closest friends said some of the funniest and most thoughtful things that brought us to tears. We are so grateful to have such amazing friends!
