To Camila and Anthony, coffee means being together, sharing moments, and taking a break from their hectic lives; as they both say, they go together "like cafe con leche." As their love story started with a cup of joe, it was only fitting that Anthony chose to propose with one, too! Ingrid of Molliner Photography was the hidden third wheel on their picnic, capturing the best cup of coffee Camila's ever had.
The two met while attending UF, during a long night of work in the architecture studio. A mutual friend brought Anthony, with coffee in hand, into the studio... and the rest is history. Three years - and many, many coffee dates - later, Anthony planned a special date combining two of Camila's favorite things: a picnic and Miami's South Pointe Park.
They always finish their meals with an espresso, so she wasn't suspicious of the coffee tumbler he had brought along - even when he "forgot" the cups in the car and had to go back for them. After he returned, though, and nervously chugged three cups while pushing her to finish her own, she began to wonder what was waiting at the bottom of that cup...
“So I took the last sip and those words 'Will you marry me?' seemed to be a dream floating in that coffee. I jumped to my feet so excited and everything finally made sense. I honestly barely heard a word he said to me! I had my hand on my mouth, holding that espresso cup as if my life depended on it. The whole moment was so fitting.”
With a little help from members of both families, Anthony picked out a round diamond ring with a vintage-style setting - just what Camila wanted: "The ring is beautiful. Enough sparkle with a modern cut, but still a vintage touch. The first night, I did not sleep at all. I just stared at the ring."
"Camthony" tied the knot this past January in Miami, and they carried their sweet coffee theme right through into their wedding day, with espresso cup favors and a custom coffee cart for their guests. Congratulations, you two!
