The internet is packed full of amazingly creative DIY bloggers and their ultra fabulous ideas. Many of those ideas, although not meant for weddings can easily translate into something that would be just perfect for your special day. Even though I specialize in creating wedding specific projects (that of course have many other uses) hundreds of kind bloggers from all over the world have included my projects in non-wedding articles, so I figured it was time for me to do the same. Each month you can look forward to me sharing 10 of my favorite DIY ideas, from all over the web that fit within some type of fun wedding theme. In honor Valentines Day this weekend, I’ve rounded-up my favorite DIY ideas for details that have heart.

1. DIY Paper Heart Sticks
How amazing are these!?!? I saw this unique aisle decor a few months back on 100 Layer Cake and have been dying over them ever since. Simply punch or cut hearts out of colored paper and glue onto wooden sticks like bbq skewers, then stick them into the dirt along your aisle! This could actually be done with any shape or colored paper that you’d like. This image is from a real wedding and the bride made them all herself!

2. DIY Concrete Heart Necklaces
OMG. I totally love these! They are rustic and modern all at the same time and are just so darn cute. Stop by Fall For DIY to learn how simple they are to make and what supplies you’ll need. These would make super sweet bridesmaid necklaces or darling embellishments (minus the chain) on seating cards or favors!

3. DIY Heart Flour Path
I have been dying to do this! I love that A Practical Wedding is actually using flour that they colored with powdered food coloring, so there’s no real clean up… it will all be whisked away in the wind over time. Stop by their website to read all about how easy it is to make your own romantic path leading up to something special; your ceremony or reception perhaps!

4. DIY Floating Hearts Backdrop
This lovely floating heart backdrop would make a terrific photobooth backdrop, cake table backdrop or even a ceremony backdrop! Visit Hank & Hunk to see how amazingly easy this project is… could be completed in one evening!

5. DIY Heart Pillow Pocket
Um… can you say the perfect ring bearer pillow!?! Or should I say vow pillow! Since ring bearers hardly ever carry the real rings anymore, maybe we should switch up the use and have them carry the vows down the aisle? It would be so adorable to pull them out of this heart pocket! Stop by See Kate Sew to find the detailed step by step tutorial on how to make your very own!

6. DIY Heart Punched Save the Dates
While looking through all my projects here on ST, I was kinda shocked to realize I don’t have that many “heart” themed details… but I did find this fun idea from a while back. Elevate simple home printed Save the Dates by punching the bottom edge with a multi-heart punch! Follow the link under the picture to find the project!

8. DIY Heart String Art
String art is one of my favorite trends of late. I love yarn and wood and nails — all simple supplies that can be turned into something incredibly unique and beautiful. LOVE this giant heart idea from Green Wedding Shoes ! Would be the perfect addition to your guest book table, cake table or even your head table.

9. DIY Heart Bird Seed Favors
Such a sweet idea! Make up a batch of special birdseed and dry in heart cookie cutters, that’s how simple it is. The gals over at Intimate Weddings recommend making these just a few days before your special event, and since they can be a little labor intensive, I’m recommending that this is the perfect bridal shower or engagement party favor! The seed is a nice treat for the birds and watching the beautiful birds is a nice treat for your guests!

10. DIY Heart Chalkboard Mason Jar Candle Holder
Last but certainly not least, the internet is obsessed with this darling heart chalkboard mason jar candle holder from Heart Love Always — so of course we had to include it! I’m not going to describe how simple this project is, you’ll just have to shop by their website to see it.
