After meeting during Miami's monthly bike event, Critical Mass , these two hit it off immediately. They've grown to love spending time outdoors biking around artsy neighborhoods and enjoying Florida's coastal parks, too. Carolina Guzik suggested they choose a location for their engagement portraits that has meaning and since Wynwood was their favorite nook when they first started dating, that was that.
Monica says David is, "loving, patient and silly. I love that he understand me, respects me, and values me. And I love that we can just be ourselves around each other, silly and fun. I love to laugh and he makes me do that everyday. Oh yeah...he cooks too!"
David describes Monica and their relationship so sweetly, too: "She is thoughtful, creative, and beautiful! I love that she supports me, I love that she puts up with my silliness (I can be a jokester sometimes). I love cooking for her. I love that we share the same hobbies. We love doing things outdoors like biking and paddle boarding."
David was nervous but determined when it came to the proposal. He was supposed to pack a picnic dinner for their Valentine's Day date. When he arrived, sans sandwiches, Monica was hungry and angry (we've all been there), but was quickly surprised with a nice bottle of Dom Perignon. While sipping on bubbly at the park, David handed her a gift box. "I opened the box and there was another box. It was a box within a box within a box. Each box had a note about why he loved me. Finally the last box was tiny with a note that said, 'please hand me this box.' Then he asked me to marry him. And I said yes! He made up for not bringing those sandwiches!"
The two are looking forward to a wedding day where they get to eat, drink and dance with their closest family and friends. David cannot wait to see Monica in her dress and seal the deal with a ring and their "I do's". It's sure to be an awesome celebration!
