“Taylor & Elizabeth are both from Houston, Texas… and they chose Boerne, Texas as the backdrop for their wedding. They fell in love with the rustic charm of Don Strange Ranch, which was made famous when Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were married there last year. The two were surrounded by 250 friends and family… and that night was the best party I’ve ever attended as a photographer. Good times were had by all!!!” – Jennifer Weems Photography
This handkerchief below is an incredibly touching ‘Something Old’. It was actually the brides Father’s at one point, then her Mother sewed lace onto the edges of it from the brides christening gown as a baby! How sweet is that!!!
“My bridesmaids, girlfriends and I made up a special dance and performed it in front of everyone which was a total surprise! It was such a fun thing to do and everyone loved it! I also loved that our guests could have a drink in their hands while we said “I Do”!
..I didn’t do any of the DIY-ing, but my Mom sure did! She made every single centerpiece. We collected bottles over the months, I gave her all my old jewelry which she used to decorate the bottles and we put one flower in each of them. They were just beautiful. So quaint and enchanting. She also had little things here and there that she made, like straws at the bar with our wedding logo on the flag, and she made sparkly clothespins for the message board, glued (fake) diamonds around all the votives, she made the programs that were fans, and she made my something old. I thought all the special DIY’s that my Mom did made the wedding! It was so perfect and she totally made my vision come to life…
..Yes! My something old was a handkerchief that was my Dad’s, which my Mom sewed lace onto from my christening gown – and around the edges of the hanky she sewed little flowers onto it that was from a dress my great grandmother made for me as a baby. It was very special. Something new was my dress! Something borrowed was a ruby ring from my Mom and my something blue were my socks that I wore in my cowboy boots!
..Personally, I did not like the planning process. I listened to, too many opinions that I really shouldn’t have. So, my advice is to do what makes you happy and stick to it. Also, being organized really helps – it will make things easier in the long run.” – Elizabeth, the bride
