“It was an utter joy to be a part of Megan and Benjie’s wedding. Megan and I have known each other since our high school days in Ohio, when Benjie’s name began to be mentioned here and there :) Little did I know back then that over a decade later we would all be living in New York, and flying to Mexico for a wedding on the beach! Megan and Benjie paid a lot of attention to the details of their wedding, and went out of their way to make sure that the guests all had a spectacular time while sending the bride and groom off to begin their married lives together. – Julie Saad Photography
“Standing next to Benjie on the warm sand in front of the most amazing beach, listening to my friends sing Wildflowers amidst the crashing waves, surrounded by family… thinking about how far we have come and knowing that what comes next is even better…
..Yes!!! I really love to craft… and I ended up crafting some really cute stuff for our wedding. We actually brought a ton of supplies with us and made things there! We made the place cards, table numbers, and printed out the programs. I also attempted to make some paper flowers. *Word to the wise for crafty brides: don’t bother assembling something the Thursday before your wedding at 11PM in your cabana under a mosquito net… you’ll wind up frustrated and covered in glue! Needless to say, the paper flowers didn’t make the cut.
A lot of the elements were DIY- just not by me :) Cake topper: My friend Caroline hosts something called ‘Crafty Christmas’ every year where you craft xmas gifts for your friends. This year’s Crafty Christmas gift to me was a cake topper of Me, Benjie and our dog! She didn’t realize we’d decided to use it until the cake came out! Chuppah: One of my closest friends Meg, designed and made the chuppah cover for us with the help of her mom Sally. They weren’t able to attend, but this was such an amazing gift.

..A friend of mine told me that the key to a successful wedding is the “build to joy.” In whatever capacity you feel comfortable, the most amazing feeling is celebrating this crescendo of joy with your community and partner. In the end it’s not about the details, but it’s about the experience!” Megan, the bride
