XShot Pro Camera Extender

XShot Pro Camera Extender

No more extending your arm as far as possible or throwing together your own homemade extender in order to shoot rad shots of you hitting the pow this winter. Made specifically for action videos and other outdoor activities, the new XShot Pro camera extender helps you capture unique and extreme angles and most importantly, get yourself in the picture.

The idea for XShot was born during a trip to France where founder Michael Daoud found it difficult to take pictures of himself and his wife while sightseeing. Since 2008, Michael and co-founder John Stump kept thinking about new ways to get people in their shots and came up with a bunch of new products: a 2.0 version of the original camera extender, a compact version in the Pocket XShot, iPhone cases with tripod adapters, and a kayak mount.

The latest product to enter the company lineup is the XShot Pro, a rugged, extendable monopod with a heavy-duty metal ball head and universal tripod mount (1/4"). The mount will fit your GoPro, Contour, and Sony action cams or any camera up to 1.25 lbs in weight. A wrist strap securely attaches the extender to your arm so you won't lose it in case of a wipeout or drop the monopod from 1000 feet in the air.

The whole XShot Pro system weighs 7 oz. and extends your reach by 31" or 78.8 cm. In order to stow it in your pack when not in use, the camera extender closes down to just 7".

XShot has yet to set a price and availability timeframe on the Pro model but will most likely decide on the final details during CES this week.
