Cherry blossoms are blooming and spring is in the air in Vancouver — but the true sign that the seasons are changing is that Vancouver pitch & putt golf courses will be opening this week on March 18, 2015.

Longer days and warmer afternoons mean that an after-work or after-school round of golf at your nearby pitch & putt is now in the cards. There really is nothing better than spending a springtime afternoon walking around a nicely maintained park and hitting a few golf balls now and then.

The Vancouver pitch & putt courses have been closed since October and will be re-opening on Wednesday, March 18th. The three courses that will be opening include:

  • Queen Elizabeth Pitch & Putt – Located in Queen Elizabeth Park, this short-hole specialty course offers beautiful views of the city, as well as an excellent way of enjoying the natural beauty of the park.
  • Rupert Park Pitch & Putt – Located near the PNE, Rupert Park Pitch & Putt is a par three course in Vancouver’s east side. It has impressive mountain views and imaginative use of trees and water.
  • Stanley Park Pitch & Putt – Located in the most popular park in Vancouver, the Stanley Park pitch & putt features 18 holes ranging from 40 to 100 yards, this splendid course is free of hazards and provides an unrivalled setting bordered by a gorgeous rhododendron garden.

All of the courses are now undergoing a final ‘spring cleaning’ before the official open date on March 18, 2015 and are expected to be in great shape. In addition, changes have been made at the kiosks on each course and there will be an increase in food and beverage offerings. There will be some new and exciting menu items in 2015 to look forward to… (Beer, perhaps? We can always dream big!)
