Today is the day that Netflix’s Pete Tong–assisted rave drama XOXO arrives on the streaming service, when we’ll finally be able to join the “coming-of-age ensemble set at the biggest (fictional) rave in America” and find out how good a job it’s done of channeling the spirit of EDC Las Vegas . XOXO is accompanied by an official soundtrack that also drops today, and we’ve been offered the chance to preview its impressive selection of sonic delights.
Featuring a huge selection of dance music’s biggest names, the soundtrack also boasts exclusive offerings from the likes of Michael Brun , Disclosure and Dada Life .
Meanwhile, director Christopher Louie spoke to Hollywood Reporter this week about bringing his rave roots to Netflix, and his efforts to ensure the results were authentic.
“That was always my intention: to make a movie that defined what it’s like to be in this culture in 2016… I’m not 18 going to festivals anymore, but I’d like to think that even having gone from little warehouses to massive, 140,000-people arenas, that it’s the same feeling.”
