The young designer Orla Reynolds has thought outside the box by thinking inside the box so to speak. “As if from nowhere” is an independently functioning bookcase, that houses four dining chairs, and two tables, that when united create a dining table.
Orla Reynolds is a former ballet dancer, who with “As if from nowhere” has tried to apply the ballerina’s strength, lightweight, lightsomeness and beautiful streamlined silhouette to her design. The movement from bookcase to dining is like a scene change. It transforms the space like props on a stage. The chairs and tables are made of such strong material, that there is an expectation that they are heavy. But they are lightweight.
She is at present developing other variations including single colour combinations and is in discussions regarding manufacturing and distribution. In the meantime enquiries may be made through the website: http://www.orlareynolds.com
