I get loads of junk press releases and other e-mail from people touting their hot new web site and most of them are doing what 100 other sites are already doing. Some are worthwhile, however, and I try to mention them here if they’ll save you some bucks. A lot are the helpful booking sites and deal newsletters are based in the U.S., but what do you do in other places? If you’re in the UK, you might want to try this one: dialaflight.com .
There are some pretty impressive flight deals on there, including flights to India (Gatwick to Delhi) for £138 plus taxes, to Goa for £234. There are flights to Malaysia starting at 263 pounds.
There are some nice vacation deals in Thailand starting at £765 per person, flight and a nice hotel. (Of course it’s better to go on your own and spend more than a week there, but many poor working stiffs can’t get away long enough.)
The big drawback is that while you’re checking out deals on the Internet, it looks like you have to step back in time and use the phone to close the deal. I guess with a name like Dial a Flight, that shouldn’t be a surprise.
