Often times, having a DIY wedding helps couples stay within their budget. Katrina+Matthew share a little bit on how they created a lot of the details of their Ceresville Mansion wedding!
“We created our own centerpieces using coffee filters that were folded and glued to a styrofoam ball. Wilson food coloring mixed with water was spritzed on the filters, hung upside down to dry, and then glued to glass candlesticks. We also created our own garland by stitching burlap ribbon, spray painting cream burlap roses, and adding strands of pearl beads. The flowers were from Etsy shop, The Blooming Corner, and were made of sola wood! The bird seed favors were from Etsy shop, Green Doxie Events, and were sent disassembled because they were a LOT cheaper! The table numbers were bought at Michaels and we spray painted them, and adorned with flowers, ribbons & pearls. We provided an activity book for the kids, which we downloaded for FREE and then bound the pages together with burlap.” Katrina’s biggest piece of advice for DIY projects, is to utilize coupons! They saved over $500 by only getting items with 40% & 50% off coupons from Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or Joanne’s.
