If you’ve been to New York City, you probably thought it was pretty expensive. Apparently it’s a huge bargain compared to 26 other cities. Oslo, Norway just grabbed the top ranking as the most expensive city in the world, taking the title from Tokyo. New York came in at a measley number 27. Here’s the Top-10.
The euro actually slid below US$1.20 this past week and it has been trading in that area for quite a while now. At least it’s stable. But considering that 8 of the top 10 most expensive cities are in Western Europe, it’s a pretty safe assumption that a European vacation is going to cost quite a lot of your cash for the forseeable future. If you’re up for $100+ taxi rides, $10 beers, and $25 martinis, you’ll find some good destinations on this list. If you’d rather go someplace where $100 will last you days instead, head elsewhere.
