Boy Survives Fall From Mountaintop

Another skier has suffered a selfie-induced tumble, this time high in the Austrian Alps.

Boy Survives Fall From Mountaintop

We reported last week on a 28-year-old man from Sydney who fell off the backside of Grand Targhee ski area while trying to take a selfie.

This time, a British schoolboy fell 1,600+ feet off the edge of a ski resort cliff while trying to snap his selfie –- and survived with only minor bumps and bruises, according to the Mirror .

The 14–year-old was on a group ski trip to the Mölltal Glacier in the Austrian Alps. On the final day of the trip, the group stopped at the 10,250-foot peak of Mount Scharek to snap a few scenic pictures of the alpine landscape.

The boy, who was accompanied by a ski instructor, leaned back to capture his glamour shot and slipped on the edge of the icy cliff.

He plummeted 1,640 feet to a ledge below.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he remains under observation, but apparently without any serious injuries.

So let’s all take a break from snapping selfies near mountain ledges and just enjoy the scenery.
