For my third 12 Months of Martha project this year, I will be showing you how to make Gold-Tipped Starfish Escort Cards that can double as favors! Darling, personalized escort cards are always one of my favorite projects to create and I especially love this one since it’s beach themed. This project is simple but will make a large impact on your guests because of it’s beauty. Easily make them fit your color scheme by choosing silver, gold, bronze or copper liquid gilding and the ribbon of your choice!
Time to Complete: One Weekend (overnight drying time required)
SUPPLIES:
- 4″ finger starfish
- Martha Stewart Crafts Liquid Gilding
- 1/8″ satin ribbon
- Home printer
- Cardstock
- Scissors
Gild Your Starfish
Simply dip one end of each starfish into your liquid gilding jar. I dipped each star as far as I could before the other arms hit the top of the jar.
**Dipping right into the jar makes things easy, but dirty starfish can pollute your gilding for future use so make sure they are clean of any sand or debris.
Make cute little tags for each of your guests. These can be used escort cards including the guests name and table number placed near your reception entrance; or they can be seating cards with just each guests name – meant to be at their place setting.
The font I used here is called Showcase Slab .
As with all our DIY tutorials, if you create one of our projects please send us a picture – We Love Seeing Your Creativity! If you use Instagram or Twitter please use the hashtag #SomethingTurquoiseDIY and it will show up on our Get Social page. Happy Crafting!
