halloween wedding | Jared + Jodi

“Jodi and Jared’s wedding day was full of scary monsters, pumpkins, skulls, and spiders! They tied the knot a couple days before Halloween and had a very festive wedding! All their guests were in full costume so there were appearances by Cruella Deville, The Cat in the Hat, Fred Flintstone, ring bearer vampires, royalty, and lots of other fun characters. Jodi wore a gown with just a small red rose on it to accent the red and black decor, during the reception she changed into a gown perfect for Halloween. The reception looked awesome, black linens, tall red rose center pieces with little pumpkins and carmel apples as favors for their guests. Jodi made the chocolate skull on top of the cake and Jared’s chocolate skeleton cake. Such a fun party complete with scary Halloween music all night long!” – Carrie Wildes Photography

“My favorite wedding day memory was watching the shocked faces of the on lookers as my bridal party walked down the aisle to toccata en fugue in d minor lol (very creepy music)…

..I did a lot of DIY projects – I designed my reception dress, we made the stenciled pumpkins for the ceremony decor, I sculpted the solid white chocolate skull cake topper, I made my grooms cake, and compiled my entire playlist, we also did our own flowers, favors, and table decorations!

..Yes – my something old: a vintage cat pin on my dress, something new: spider broach on my dress, something borrowed: my moms necklace, something blue: a ribbon tied on my garter.

..My advice for planning is to take at least a year to make everything happen. Appoint someone from the bridal party to keep you on track so you don’t lose your stuff or miss your exit like we did! Also, have someone to check your makeup – my blush was so uneven and no one ever told me!” -Jodi, the bride
