Bouquet Blueprint | lavender roses + bear grass

Since patterned bridesmaid dresses are becoming more and more popular this year, we decided to take part! It’s a super fun trend but when deciding on the right bouquet to compliment the fashion, it’s best to keep it simple. This mono-botanical bouquet is a perfect option because it adds a wonderful pop of color without overwhelming the dress. We are in love… but we’re not sure which we love more… the dress or the bouquet!

AVAILABILITY // Roses, bear grass and magnolia leaves are available all year long. Magnolia leaves are available as a “cut flower” from the end of summer through winter but can easily be cut from trees if needed during other times of the year.

CARE // This bouquet is VERY sturdy however remember that all flowers can show signs of abuse. It’s best to stay away from touching rose petals of any kind in excess. Bear grass can be difficult to work with if you have never used it before. It’s very flexible and easy to bend but be sure to handle it with care because it can cut your hands. Only handle from the base (widest section) to the tip to avoid being cut.

RECIPE // 20-30 magnolia leaves, 20 stems of “ocean song” roses, 1/2 bunch of bear grass.

BOUTONNIERES // Roses can be too large for boutonnieres however Ocean Song roses are much lighter and have a slightly smaller bloom making them a perfect size for a boutonniere. A more modern and masculine option is created from a folded magnolia leaf and accented with bear grass.
